Our next breakfast meeting will be held on December 18, 2018 at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool beginning at 7:45 AM. Our speaker this month is Richard Smardon PhD, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus. He will present on issues revolving around revitalizing or restoring urban waterways. A portion of this presentation will focus on the Onondaga Creek Conceptual Revitalization Plan from 2005 to 2009 but will also include examples across the US of successful integration of social issues so as to avoid environmental justice situations for disadvantaged communities. The presentation will also draw from Dr. Smardon’s recent book Revitalizing Urban Waterway Communities; Streams of Environmental Justice. The presentation has been approved for PDH credit.
