The April CNY AWMA breakfast meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Embassy Suites at Destiny (311 Hiawatha Blvd W, Syracuse NY 13204) beginning at 8 AM. Dereth Glance, Deputy Commissioner for Environmental Remediation & Materials Management and Acting Director, Region 7 of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, will present an overview of the recently released draft of the New York State Solid Waste Management Plan. The "New York State Solid Waste Management Plan: Building the Circular Economy Through Sustainable Materials Management" recommends actions to reduce the climate impact of solid waste and provides direction for New York's waste reduction, reuse, recycling, collection, transportation, and disposal investments, policies, and practices over the next decade. This presentation will explore components of the draft Solid Waste Management Plan as a roadmap for more sustainable solid waste management. We are awaiting PDH approval for this presentation.
