April 2021 Virtual Breakfast Meeting
The AWMA-CNY Chapter will host our next monthly program with a virtual lunch meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Darcy Sachs, Project/Program Manager at Arcadis, will present on Wastewater Monitoring for SARS-CoV-2. COVID-19 virus transmission occurs from symptomatic and asymptomatic people. Monitoring the wastewater collection system along with human health data can be used to assess the virus spread in a community and inform health decision makers of localized outbreaks of COVID-19. The presentation will cover the basics of wastewater epidemiology, as well as results from several studies and active projects on the subject. This will include an overview of the NYS Pilot results in one municipality and show the power of this tool in a community setting when an outbreak occurs. We are seeking PDH credit for this presentation, with more information to follow.
The meeting will take place virtually only and you will be provided with a link to the meeting after your sign up. The meeting schedule will be as follows:
11:45 AM – 12:00 PM – Log-Ins and Open Meeting Format (non-structured time to catch up with your fellow attendees – feel free to bring your lunch)
12:00 PM – 12:05 PM – Housekeeping Announcements and Introductions
12:05 PM – 1:15 PM – Featured Speaker
1:15 PM – 1:30 PM – Time for Q&A and Additional Networking
Please register by clicking below by Friday, April 16th. This meeting will be free for CNY AWMA members (remember to renew your membership – renew online through on our Membership page here). The cost for non-members to attend is $15 though students may attend the meeting for free.
